When I first walked into Tacos Luna Y Mas at 301 W Lexington Ave, Winchester, KY 40391, United States, I immediately noticed the lively atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The bright decor and casual seating create a perfect spot for both a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with friends. What really caught my attention was the aroma of freshly cooked tortillas and sizzling meats-it’s the kind of scent that instantly makes your mouth water and promises an authentic Mexican dining experience.

The menu at Tacos Luna Y Mas is impressively diverse, offering everything from classic tacos and burritos to more adventurous options like seafood enchiladas and loaded nachos. During my visit, I tried the carne asada tacos, and they were cooked to perfection, tender, and full of flavor. The blend of spices was carefully balanced, showing a clear understanding of traditional Mexican flavors. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla, which came with a side of fresh guacamole that had just the right amount of zest. The attention to detail in each dish reflects a professional approach to cooking that’s hard to find in many local diners.

What sets Tacos Luna Y Mas apart is not just the food but the experience of dining there. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu, often offering recommendations and explaining the ingredients in a way that makes you feel confident in your choice. For example, the server suggested trying the house-made salsa trio, which included a smoky chipotle, a mild tomato, and a tangy green salsa. Each one brought out a different dimension of flavor in the tacos, enhancing the overall meal. • We tried another new restaurant tonight and WOW! This was the best Mexican food I have ever had! Salsa was amazing, steak chimichanga was huge and delicious, but the Birria tacos with the au jus dip were the show stoppers! The Margaritas were very good as well! We will be back for sure! If you are looking for a great place to eat, look no further!

  • Food has always been great. My husband and other family members love the torta. Today we ordered brunch for the first time. My picky 12 yr old wasn't about to try the breakfast torta but he did and ate half of it. My husband loved his half but said next time have them add some meat to it.

  • Tacos Luna y Mas in Winchester, Kentucky, is a hidden gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Mexican street food to small-town America. What began as a popular food truck has blossomed into a cozy brick-and-mortar spot at 301 W. Lexington Avenue, offering a relaxed atmosphere that feels both authentic and inviting . The menu is a celebration of traditional Mexican cuisine, featuring tacos, burritos, tortas, and more, all crafted with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes . Diners can choose from a variety of meats, including steak, chicken, marinated pork, and chorizo, each seasoned to perfection . The use of fresh masa in their tortillas adds an authentic touch that elevates each bite. The atmosphere is equally noteworthy. With its colorful decor and lively music, the restaurant transports guests to the bustling streets of Mexico . Whether you’re enjoying a meal indoors or on the outdoor patio, the vibe is laid-back and welcoming. It’s a delightful surprise to find such an oasis of flavor and culture nestled in the heart of Winchester.

  • Took my oldest and her, at the time, pending boyfriend. He had the 3 Birria tacos, she had the Birria quesadilla, and I had the Birria loaded nachos. We ordered question and chips as an appetizer. And we all had water as drinks. The queso and chips was a large portion! The chips were fresh and crisp, but the queso was lacking in flavor. It seemed to be just a Mexican cheese blend, there were no peppers, or other things to give it the kick I'm accustom too. My recommendation is to pass on this appetizer. The tacos were awesome according to the PBF, lol. He had been there before, so that should say something that he came back and ordered the same thing again. The came with a consume to dip in, and he added guacamole. My daughter had the quesadilla, and although it looked rather plain, it was loaded with flavor. Had to let it cool down as it was piping hot, but once cooled it just melted in your mouth. I had the nachos! And the were better than they looked!! The fresh pico on top was a deal sealer for me. It made up for the lack luster cheese, probably the same queso. Again the chips were fresh and crisp with just a hint of saltiness. The meat was tender and the consume on the side was a bowl of warm deliciosness. I'm not a sour cream fan so I got it on the side. My daughter quickly called dibs and dunked her quesadilla. My one complaint, and I'm being picky, because they don't charge for water. But for that cost savings, you can taste the chlorine from the tap. I would have gladly paid $1.00 for bottled or filtered water. But you get what you pay for. The atmosphere is rustic, with a pleasent touch of Latin culture sprinkled about. It is a cozy spot, so to say space inside is tight but it lends to the overall charm. Parking is a little odd as we had to park at a neighboring business, but not a bad thing, just odd. Service was excellent!! Orders were correct, served with a friendly smile, and checked on us twice to make sure everything was to our liking. It was well worth the $40 for 3 people to be stuffed. If your going to be near Wichester KY. And looking for a new place to try I highly recommend giving this great establishment your business.
